Ingredients

  • 1 large sourdough bread bowl (or round crusty loaf)
  • 1/2 lb cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: cayenne pepper, hot sauce, Parmesan, spinach, diced red pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice off top of bread loaf and hollow out, leaving about 1/2 inch thickness. Set bread chunks aside for dipping.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded mozzarella, green onions, garlic, Old Bay, smoked paprika, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Gently fold in chopped shrimp and crab. Add any optional mix-ins like spinach or red pepper.
  5. Spoon mixture into hollowed bread bowl and top with extra cheese if desired.
  6. Place on lined baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until bubbly and golden. Toast bread chunks during last 10 minutes if desired.
  7. Garnish with green onions and serve warm with bread pieces, crackers, or veggie sticks.
