If you’re looking for a dish packed with flavor, crunch, and just the right amount of heat, these Spicy & Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites are perfect. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, with a creamy, spicy sauce that ties everything together.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb salmon fillet, skinless and cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut the salmon fillet into bite-sized pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Set Up the Breading Station: In one bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a second bowl, whisk the egg. In a third bowl, spread the panko breadcrumbs.
- Bread the Salmon: Dip each piece of salmon first in the flour mixture, then in the egg, and finally coat it in panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is thoroughly coated.
- Fry the Salmon: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook salmon bites in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Adjust the sriracha for desired spice level.
- Coat & Serve: Toss the cooked salmon bites in the bang bang sauce until coated. Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
Fry in batches to maintain crispiness. Overcrowding the pan makes them soggy. For a healthier version, bake the salmon bites at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes with a drizzle of oil.
