These Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef Tacos combine juicy shredded beef with sweet honey, smoky BBQ sauce, and rich garlic butter. A weeknight taco twist that’s always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
    • For the Beef Filling:
    • 2 pounds beef chuck roast, cut into 1-inch cubes
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 4 tablespoons butter
    • 6 cloves garlic, minced
    • 3 tablespoons honey
    • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/4 cup beef broth (if using slow cooker or pressure cooker)

  • For Assembly:
  • 1216 small flour or corn tortillas, warmed
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Monterey Jack, cheddar, or Mexican blend)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Sour cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Sear the Beef: Pat beef dry and season. Sear in olive oil in batches until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Create the Sauce: In the same pot, melt butter. Sauté garlic until fragrant. Add honey, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  3. Simmer and Shred: Return beef to pot. Simmer covered on low for 1.5–2 hours until tender. Shred and simmer uncovered 10–15 minutes more to thicken sauce.
  4. Assemble the Tacos: Warm tortillas. Fill with beef and your choice of toppings—lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, avocado, and cilantro.
  5. Serve: Garnish with lime wedges and a dollop of sour cream if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra heat, add chopped chipotle peppers in adobo. The beef filling can be made ahead and freezes well. Serve leftovers in quesadillas or nachos!
